Make a RC Wish: Blog

"Make a RC Wish" is a complete ready to race RC Car given, FREE, to a kid who doesn't have the $$$$ to get into the hobby.

I'm , I received the first of the "Make a RC Wish" cars, Feb 2004 my older brother passed away. My younger brother (has raced RC cars for over 20 years!) gave me (3/4/04) a RC10B3, complete with radio, charger, battery's, wheels, repair parts and tools. To assist me in recovering from the loss. September 2006 he gave me the OK to give the RC10B3 away.

"Make a RC Wish" has a lead person who does the leg work getting the info out and getting the parts in, then puts the package together.

If your track has a forum start there, if its a club start at a meeting. Ask for a donor car, parts, tools, charger and bat's. The car has to be complete, ready to race, with charged bat's! So the kid can race that day.

Only one (real) rule who gets the car can not sell it! It's free to them, they can pass it on for free or return it to be given out again (Make a RC Wish I, I "B" & V are the same car).

How do we find/determine who gets a "Make a RC Wish"?

Many racers TRUST us with parts/cars to bless a kid with a complete "Ready to Race" car. The staff of MRCW does NOT take this lightly! We list these base requirements for getting a MRCW car, so ALL racers will continue to trust us in this endeavor.

Basicly seperate the "Haves" from the "Have Nots"!

Age 8 - 16

Boy OR Girl

A racer or one of the MRCW staff will bring to the attention, a boy OR girl who doesn't have the funds to get into this hobby, of one of the MRCW staff.
We then meet the dad/mom to determine IF dad/mom can fund the start up in this hobby.
To find out what RC history the kid has.
To find out how they will get to the track each/every other week to race.
We also check out the racer who nominated the kid.
Are they (the racer) are willing to assist the kid in learning how to maintain.

If dad/mom can fund a startup, its a no.
If dad/mom has a RC car, its a no.
If the kids brother/sister has a RC car, its a no.
If the racer who nominated the kid isn't willing to assist, its a no.
